Phonological Remarks on Spanish Loanwords in English

چکیده

This paper focuses on loanword phonology in the context of Spanish words that have become part English lexicon 20th century. The background section shows attention has been paid to used from a lexical point view, but scarcely regarding phonology. Furthermore, few existing studies do not deal depth with and as an example crosslinguistic contact. Therefore, this aims at contributing explanation phonological adaptations occurring when integrated into English, therefore conditions operate process perception production loanwords. In doing so, two areas interest are analysed: vowel phonemes consonant phonemes, mainly relation their distinctive features distribution units also considering related phenomena such phonetic orthographical factors.
